I’m not an expert on human trafficking so I’ve been educating myself on the subject and am appalled at the size and scope of the problem. It’s an enormous underground industry that is sometimes right in our face. It is estimated that there are over 40 million people being trafficked globally, with hundreds of thousands in the United States.
There is no state or community in the country that is immune to having human trafficking take place within it. Cities, suburbs, rural, rich, poor, every race, gender, and religion is affected by it. Human trafficking is considered to be the second most profitable criminal enterprise in the world; the suffering for those who are victimized by it is unspeakable.

Project Guardian works to find and rescue missing children, particularly those trapped in human trafficking situations, through volunteer support, awareness campaigns and direct action — always in coordination with law enforcement.
